Back in early May, Todd and Meredith had a small, intimate, destination wedding – which means that only a handful of their friends and family attended. A group of family and friends honored them at a party at the Officers’ Club to welcome Todd into the clan. I was happy to attend the party mostly as a guest – but with camera in hand. I was about 1/3 photographer and 2/3 guest. It was fun for me to attend an event and actually get to socialize with friends I haven’t seen for a while.
This group really knows how to throw a party.  The decorations used a beach theme that carried through from the foyer, to the tables to the delicious Kathy Canby cake. I love that each table was different.
Todd and Meredith greeted their guests as they arrived. I designed their Guest Book using photographs from their wedding in Florida. The album was a big hit because it allowed the guests to have a sneak peek at Meredith and Todd’s beautiful wedding. I enjoy designing these small albums because no two are alike. This is the first time I have designed a Guest Book using another photographer’s pictures – and I must admit it was a little more difficult for me. But it came out really well if I do say so myself.
When it was time to cut the cake, Meredith and Todd decided not to feed each other. They did that at their reception in Florida. So Todd fed his new mother-in-law instead!
We were well entertained by the fabulous and famous (or should I say infamous?) Clam Slammers. I love having a live band and this group plays MY kind of music. That means music written and recorded at least a couple of decades ago.
It took a little while to get this crowd moving. A few guests would dance – then the floor would empty for a couple of songs. But the women at this party took their Electric Slidin’ seriously. The dance floor was jammed – and these women (and a lone male or two) rocked.
Kate attended her first party. If she’s already partying at 2 months, imagine what she’ll be like when she gets to college! I think the apple won’t fall far from the tree, if you know what I mean
I’ll end with a picture of Meredith and her brother, Jason. I have known these kids since they really were kids. In fact, Meredith wasn’t even born when my daughter, Megan, shared a Nanna with Jason. I am so glad that I am still a part of their lives all these years later.
The party was a huge success. To see more pictures, visit the Client section of my website/blog in a few days. I’ll post more pictures in a public gallery.
Best wishes to Meredith and Todd!
